Campana Quetzal is one of nineteen organizations receiving a Technology Matching Fund from the City of Seattle. The Padres Promotores project was awarded $17,000 to train parents as peer leaders and equip them with laptops for home visits with Latino families. Parents will learn how to access online information about their children’s education. Laptops will also be used as a “portable classroom” to offer computer literacy trainings for parents in Spanish.  See the full press release.

Campaña Quetzal is partnering with the Latino Bar Association of Washington to raise scholarship funds for the tutors of

Our Partnership Summit was held on Friday, November 7 with nearly 50 people attending our first ever Summit on Partnership at the SSCC Duwamish Apprenticeship and Education Center in Georgetown. Our November 08 Scholarship workshop to learn how to find scholarships was very well attended, around 25 students and parents were at the Workshop on Saturday, November 22nd, 2008. We had two presenters from Seattle Central Community College, a professor from the College of Education University of Washington, and six volunteers helping students to open an account and navigate the web to find scholarships.
